Using Leah’s Essential Oils to Support PMS, Perimenopause & Menopause

The Essential Oils below will help with relaxation, lift mood, support sleep, and ease discomfort associated with hormonal changes. 

Hot Flashes/ Headaches - Peppermint

Peppermint is cooling and refreshing, wonderful to use when feeling overheated or experiencing discomfort from hot flashes. Ideal to use if suffering from hormonal headaches, migraine tension brain fog and/or mental fatigue. The smell of Peppermint can also lift your mood and help you feel more balanced.

How to Use: Add 2 to 3 drops to a tissue. Hold the tissue up to your nose while breathing slowly.

Candle: Light a Leah’s Peppermint & Rosemary Candle

Body Mist Spray: Leah’s Peppermint & Rosemary Mist to refresh and cool down the body.

Diffuser: Add 10-15 drops of Rosemary & Peppermint  to 100ml water in a diffuser.

Low Mood/Energy – Citrus Essential Oils -Grapefruit, Bergamot, Lime, Orange, Lemon

If your mood is low reach for ANY Citrus Essential Oils. These sunshine oils are energizing, uplifting, refreshing and stimulate the mind allowing clarity of thought.

How to Use: Candle: Light a Leah’s’ Grapefruit Bergamot & Lime’ Candle

Diffuser: Add 10-15 drops of one, two or three chosen Citrus Oils to 100ml water in a diffuser.

Disrupted sleep/Anxiety - Lavender

Lavender is one of the best essential oils reach for if youre having sleeplessness or disrupted sleep

Lavender will balance emotions, lift depression and ease irritability, relieving stress & anxiety. It will also ease headaches, migraines and muscle tension.

How to Use: Candle:

Light a Leah’s Lavender Candle

Diffuser: Add 10-15 drops of Lavender Essential Oil to 100ml water in a diffuser.

Bath: First mix 6 drops of Lavender with 1 tsp of milk and then pour into your bath.

Sleep: Spray Leahs Essential Oil Mist spray on pillow, bed sheets and pjs aid in a restful night’s sleep.

Cramps: Apply 1-2 drops of Lavender directly to the abdomen to help with cramps.

Hormonal Breakouts: Lavender has antimicrobial and antibacterial properties that can clear hormonal acne. add a drop of lavender oil to blemishes before bedtime.

Emotional Balance - Geranium

A beautiful and gentle Essential oil for emotional support and balance during hormonal transitions. Wonderful for overall general wellbeing but especially for feelings of overwhelm and anxiety. Geranium balances both mind and body; it calms emotions, lifts depression and relieves stress and anxiety. It balances hormones, thus regulating PMT and menopause.

How to Use:

Candle: Light a Leah’s Lavender & Geranium Candle

Sleep: Spray Leah’s Essential Oil Mist spray on pillow, bed sheets and pjs to aid in a restful night’s sleep.

Bath: First mix 6drops Geranium with 1tsp of milk and then pour into your bath.

Diffuse: add 10-15 drops of Geranium (I recommend a few drops of Lavender along with it) to 100ml of water in a diffuser. ‍ ‍

Libido Support - Ylang Ylang

For women experiencing reduced desire due to stress or menopause I always recommend reaching for Ylang Ylang – It’s an aphrodisiac. Ylang Ylang helps reduce stress and anxiety, its promotes relaxation and creates a romantic atmosphere It can also help decrease inflammation, increase circulation, and promote better mood regulation. All of these benefits can be incredibly helpful if you suffer from PMS symptoms.

How to Use:

Candle: Light a Leah’s ‘Ylang Ylang, Patchouli & Orange’ OR ‘Ginger Lily & Ylang Ylang’ Candle

Bedtime: Spray Leah’s Essential Oil Mist spray on pillow and bed sheets‍ ‍

Bath: first mix 3 drops with 1tsp of milk and then pour into your bath. Put 3 drops of Ylang Ylang into an Epsom Salt bath for some extra relaxation.

Diffuse: add 10 drops of essential oil (on its own or as part of a blend with other oils, such as Citrus or Lavender ) to 100ml water in a diffuser.
